iPoker Network Review

iPoker is one of the newest networks in the online gaming industry, but it is also one of the biggest. The network collectively receives more traffic than the Microgaming and Cryptologic networks, which is due to the rapid growth it experienced since its launch. iPoker is on par however with the OnGame network in terms of traffic. The most popular room on the network is Titan Poker, which is due to their aggressive advertising and big promotions. However, there are a number of other big names on this network including VC Poker and Poker Ocean.

The network uses the Playtech software and is easily one of the best poker gaming clients on the market. The graphics are on par with the industry standard, but the room really excels when it comes to offering quality in-game features to the players. There are the usual basic features of ‘four color deck’, which changes the club cards to green and the diamond cards to blue to help distinguish between the suits during the game. But there are a number of other quality features such as the ability to turn on ‘dealer sound’ and ‘player sound’, so that you can hear the players and dealers state their actions as they take place.

Within the options menu, there is a ‘mini-mode’ view available, which is very handy for players that like to multi-table as it is possible to fit 4 tables on a 1024x728 screen without overlap. There is also a ‘large view’ mode that stretches the table window across the entire length and width of the screen to provide a more involving playing experience.

Possibly the most useful feature available to the regular and analytic player is the ability to bring up recent hand histories via a button in the table window. By choosing to view the recent hand histories, you will bring up a small window that clearly displays all the actions that took place in each individual hand that you have played. Here you can view the bet amounts, position and the eventual winner of every hand that you have participated in. This is an incredibly useful way to help yourself find leaks in your game and possible trends from your opponents to aid you with future decisions.

The Playtech software also prides itself on having a sophisticated collusion detection system to identify any unfair play at the tables. Collusion is where two or more players work together, possibly by means of communication over a messaging service, to provide a mutual benefit for the colluding players. Obviously this is unfair play and could put the other players at the table at a disadvantage, so it is good to know that the software works hard to prevent any illegal activity at the tables.

There are the usual Holdem, Omaha and Stud variations of the game available of the network, but there are no other unique games on offer if you are looking for a change from the common poker games. The Texas Holdem cash and tournament tables are the busiest, but the network does a good job in attracting players that are comfortable with participating in all of the varieties of games on offer.

Overall, the iPoker network is very strong and we can only expect it to continue to grow at the fast rate that it has done from the start. There are not as many skins on this network like Microgaming has, but it really isn’t necessary when there are so many big names on the one network providing a large total player volume. Our recommendation if you are looking to try out this network is Titan Poker.
