Overview 8.7/10

PokerRoom is one of the best online poker rooms around today. If you are looking for your first site to play at, PokerRoom is highly recommended. This is because of the great customer support and solid software that allows you to easily see each play made at the tables, which will allow you improve your game due to a better comprehension of each action. PokerRoom offers all of the standard poker games such as Texas Holdem, Omaha and Stud. The room also offers for tables for each betting variation of the game such as limit and no limit.

It should be noted that PokerRoom does not adopt the same blind structure as you would find in most major online rooms for Hold'em. Instead of having a small and big blind (e.g. $1/$2), PokerRoom has two blinds of equal value (e.g. $1/$1).

Software 9/10

PokerRoom is a well-established site with great software to accompany it. The site offers a no-download feature, which means that Mac users are able to player poker at PokerRoom.com. PokerRoom has a great graphical design and layout for their poker room, as the layout is uncluttered by provides enough information for you to understand how the game is progressing, with soft graphics that help you keep engaged in the game. The software provides unique 3D-like graphics that very few rooms can compete with, along with a user friendly lobby that allows tables to be sorted under their respective columns.

There is also a chat box within in the main lobby that all connected players can use. However, the discussion found in this chat box is rarely of much interest to most people.

Traffic 8/10
The room has one of the highest volumes of traffic compared to other rooms on the net, which is more than likely due to its 'stick ability' factor. After signing up you will notice the difference between PokerRoom and other rooms, as PokerRoom offers a unique online poker experience. However, the room does not accept US players which prevents it from reaching its potential as far as player volume is concerned.
Competition 8/10
Because of the high traffic and unique playing experience, PokerRoom is able to obtain and most importantly keep hold of players that play recreationally. This results in looser tables with players willing to put their money in with sub-standard hands, which can only mean good things for the more experienced players.
Support 9/10
PokerRoom has a quality customer support team that answers queries from players promptly. The responses they give are well structured and they are happy to help if you ever have problems with the room. A live chat and phone service is also available which allows you to chat directly with a customer service assistant.
Bonus 8/10

PokerRoom offers a 50% sign up bonus up to $100 (a $200 deposit required to obtain full bonus) using bonus code 'POKERBANK'. 7 player points are required for every dollar of bonus before it can be released, therefore a $100 bonus will require 700 player points in total. You receive player points for participating in raked hands. The number of player points you receive increases according to the amount of rake taken. The system is detailed as the table shows below.
