Overview 6.5/10
Sun Poker is your typical online poker site. The room is part of the cryptologic network, which hosts a decent volume of players and offers usual variety of games. Sun Poker is a very bread and butter type of poker room, that does not offer many special or unique features. You will probably not be overly impressed by the room as a whole because it is so standard. The rooms most attractive feature is it's sign-up bonus, but there is not a lot to make you stay at this room after the bonus has cleared. With Sun Poker you can be sure that your money is safe with a reliable room, but they will not bowl you over with what they have to offer.
Software 7/10

The software at Sun Poker is nothing special, although the table layout is very easy to use. A unique feature is the ability to turn on 'Dealer Sound' where a voice describes each stage of the hand, for example; "dealing flop". However this may become annoying after a few hours of play but can be easily turned off in the options menu. One of the better aspects of the room is that it displays a pleasant background and table design, which makes it one of the more favorable skins on the network.

One very slight difference between Sun Poker and most other rooms is the sound of the chips moving when they are being placed into the pot. At most rooms there is a distinct difference between chips moving in on a raise and chips moving in on a call. However at Sun Poker the sounds are the exactly the same, which may catch you out if you are used to playing with the sound of the game. So keep your ears pealed when analyzing plays.

Traffic 6/10
Sun Poker is part of the Canadian Cryptologic network, so it shares its players with other poker rooms on the same network such as InterPoker and William Hill. The volume of traffic is decent, but not overwhelming. However, there are other networks in the industry that receive a much higher volume of player traffic. Cryptologic is currently the 4th most popular out of the Poker networks.
Competition 6/10
As already mentioned, the room receives a playable amount of traffic. You should not have any trouble finding a game at any time of the day, although the Omaha and Stud tables can be a little dead at times. However, if you are a pure Holdem player it will be easy to get a game at the limit or no limit tables, especially at the low to medium stakes. If you are searching for a site with very soft competition, you are better off looking at rooms like Pacific Poker and Bodog.
Support 8/10
Sun Poker has a good customer support service, offering a email and phone service to its customers. There is currently no live-chat feature available, which is quickly becoming industry standard. However, all emails are responded to quickly and with good accuracy.
Bonus 7/10

Sun Poker offers a 100% up to $500 sign up bonus for all new depositing players. The bonus is redeemed by collecting MPPs, where the more MPPs you collect, the more bonus amount you will receive.

MPPs Reached  Amount Credited Free Money Total
160 MPPs $20 $20
400 MPPs $30 $50
800 MPPs $50  $100
1200 MPPs $50 $150
1600 MPPs $50 $200
5000 MPPs $300 $500

To earn an MPP, you must participate in a raked pot. The following highlights how many MPPs you will earn depending on the amount of rake.

Rake from 0 to 24 = 0 MPP
Rake from .25 to 0.99 = .25 MPP
Rake from $1 to $3 = 1 MPP
Tournament Fee’s $/£/€ 1 = 3 MPPs
